01Move from Squarespace

Outgrown Squarespace? Keep every page.

Bring across the pages and blog you want to keep. We combine the Squarespace export with a list of what it leaves out, then rebuild your layouts and connections.

Some pages leave the export, so we list them all.

A Squarespace export covers some content and only one blog. We review the other page types, so the quote covers your whole site.

Some pages leave the export, so we list them all.
Part of your siteWhat comes with youWhat we do
Layout pages and blog Page content and one blog with its posts, through the XML export. We map that content into your layouts and check formatting against the published pages.
Portfolios and extra blogs The content you want to keep from pages the export leaves out. We list these separately and plan how to rebuild them. Archive size and page structure affect the price.
Media and styling Your original files and the brand choices you want to keep. Style settings and custom CSS are missing from the XML export, so we rebuild your styling and check each media block by hand.
Forms and scheduling The form fields and scheduling service you want customers to use. We connect each flow to the new site and test it on the preview.
Existing addresses The page and post URLs on your approved list. We keep them or add redirects, then check the navigation and the links inside the archive.

We use the XML file and review the rest by hand.

Squarespace exports content as a WordPress-format XML file. We can build from that file even though your new site does not run WordPress.

Exported content

The file holds your layout content and one blog you choose. We check it against your list of pages.

Content gathered separately

Portfolio pages and several media block types are left out. We review those pages on the live site and collect the files needed to recreate them.

Decide what happens to the tools around your site.

The page design and the tools attached to it are separate choices, and we write both down before the build.

Scheduling and inquiries

If you want to keep your scheduling service, we check how it connects to the new site. Its subscription may continue separately from your CloudWeld monthly fee.

Publishing after launch

Tell us which page types you publish often. Before the move we settle the layouts, the editor and which updates your team or CloudWeld handles.

Domain and email

We check the domain registration and DNS access, including the records your email depends on. Your current services stay on while we prepare the switch.

Asked before leaving Squarespace

What if I have more than one blog?

Yes. The standard export includes one blog, so we list the others separately and tell you before the build how their posts and media will come across.

Can I keep Squarespace Scheduling?

Usually, yes. We check how it connects to your new website before we price the move, and you may need to keep its subscription.

Will the new site use the same design?

Yes, if you want it. The XML file does not carry style settings, so we rebuild the layouts and styling you choose and show them on the preview.

Your proposal lists the website work, search setup and editing tools, with one fixed price. You keep the code, the content and your own accounts, and the monthly fee covers running it after launch.
